Biography:
In 2020, Margarita graduated from Novosibirsk State University (Faculty of Natural Sciences) with a Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry. The topic of the bachelor’s thesis was to study the effect of the mechanochemical treatment on the concentration of rare earth elements in humic acids of brown coals. Margarita performed this research at the Institute of Solid State Chemistry and Mechanochemistry of the Siberian Branch of the Russian Academy of Sciences (Novosibirsk) under the supervision of T.S. Skripkina.
In 2022, Margarita graduated with honors from Lomonosov Moscow State University (Faculty of Materials Science) with a Master’s degree in Materials Chemistry, Physics and Mechanics. As a master’s student, she investigated optical and photocatalytic properties of one-dimensional photonic crystals and optical microcavities based on anodic titanium oxide under the supervision of S.E. Kushnir and N.A. Sapoletova. Kurnakov Institute of General and Inorganic Chemistry of the Russian Academy of Science recognized the master’s thesis of Margarita as «The best study in the field of inorganic chemistry».
Currently, Margarita’s PhD research at Skoltech is dedicated to the development of efficient catalysts for the electrocatalytic reduction of carbon dioxide to value-added chemicals. This work is supported by the grant of Russian Science Foundation № 22-13-00096 “Well-characterized highly dispersed catalysts for deep electrochemical reduction of carbon dioxide”.
