Scientific advisor: Prof. Aldo Bischi
Former scientific advisor: Prof. Alexander Ustinov
Ph.D. thesis: “CHP Facility based on the Coupling of Inverted Brayton and Organic Rankine Cycles Implemented for WHR from High-temperature Heat Sources”.
Projects, Kirill was involved during the study in Skoltech: “Energy Bridge Russia-Japan” feasibility study, “Micro power plant with 200W PEM fuel cell” research project, “Novel CHP facility based on tunnel gas turbine” H2020 application procedure, “Dynamic modeling of micro gas turbine based on the Inverted Brayton Cycle” research.
Kirill graduated from Bauman University in 2014 majoring in alternative energy plants and gas turbines. His diploma work was dedicated to modular biogas station with a micro gas turbine based on the inverted Brayton cycle (IBC) as the thermodynamic cycle of the power machine. At Skoltech Kirill’s focus of research is also on the mechanical part of energy systems. In his current project, he works on further investigation of the IBC micro gas turbine in combination with the organic Rankine cycle (ORC) for waste heat recovery (WHR) application. ORC itself is the most deployed solution in WHR, that is why he is comparing the performance of the combined scheme with ORC, and investigate its specific aspects and interaction with the primary source of waste heat, in collaboration with Pisa University.
