Biography:
Javier completed his B.Sc. in Electrical Engineering, specializing in Renewable energy sources and hydroelectric at Moscow Power Engineering Institute (MPEI), in 2018. In 2021 he received his M.Sc. degree in Energy Systems at the Skolkovo Institute of Science and Technology (Skoltech), Russia. His M.Sc. thesis “Indoor agriculture electricity needs: a demand response analysis” was the result of an interdisciplinary collaboration with the Digital Agriculture Laboratory at Skoltech. In 2021 he received another M.Sc. degree in Power Engineering at MPEI; there his Master’s research subject was “Feasibility study for an isolated solar and wind combined power plant in Cabo de la vela, Colombia”.
Javier currently is a first-year Ph.D. student at Skoltech working under the supervision of Prof. Henni Ouerdane. In particular, he is involved in the research connected with energy efficiency in the agricultural sector, including, demand response, renewables integration, control optimization, digitalization, and electrification.
