Congwei Xie graduated from Northwestern Polytechnical University majoring in composite materials and engineering (BSc, 2012) and materials engineering (MSc, 2015). His MSc thesis work focused on applying evolutionary algorithm to search for low-k MgAl2O4 At Skoltech Congwei Xie’s focus of research is also on the computational design of low-k inorganic materials. In his current project, he firstly develops an effective semi-empirical model for accurately and quickly evaluating k of materials. Then, he uses this model for speeding up the discovery of new low-k inorganic materials. The expected new low-k inorganic materials will be tested for ultralarge scale integrated circuits (ULSIs) applications.
