Ph. D. Thesis: “Investigation of the use of differential privacy techniques for privacy protection in power systems, including demand response programs in smart cities”
Supervisor: Prof. Elena Gryazina
IDC committee members: Prof. Elena Gryazina, Prof. David Pozo, Prof. Petr Vorobev
Alexandra received her BSc from Moscow Institute of Physics and Technology, with a specialization in applied mathematics and physics. The Thesis title was “Search and study of extended emission in light curves of gamma-ray bursts of SPI-ACS/INTEGRAL experiment”. Alexandra pursued her studies as a master’s student at Skoltech, in the Energy Systems program. Her Thesis at Skoltech was related to the evaluation of power flow models for distribution grids and smart cities.
Apart from the academic side, Alexandra also participated in the industrial projects of Skoltech. One of such projects, commissioned by Rosseti consisted in the development of requirements for the design and technical re-equipment of urban electric grids as a “smart city” infrastructure.
Alexandra also has work experience in a consultancy company. In particular, she was involved in a project related to management and the legal regulation of the wind power industry in Russia.
Currently, Alexandra’s research interests are tied to the investigation and development of relevant approaches for the management of distribution grids in conditions of new trends and technologies arising associated with the “smart grid” concept.
