Introduction to Poisson-Lie groups
Let U be the unipotent radical of a Borel subgroup of a simple algebraic group G. Orbits of the coadjoint representation of U play the key role in its representation theory. To each involution in the Weyl group W of G one can naturally assign a certain coadjoint orbit of U. We will discuss the importance of such orbits from representation-theoretical point of view, prove their several interesting properties and formulate open questions in this area
For more thаn 200 years the helicoid was the only known embedded minimal surface of infinite total curvature and finite genus. The situation changed in 1993, when Hoffmnan, Karcher and Wei discovered a genus one helicoid – the minimal torus with one end, which has a form of the helicoid at infinity. I will tell about the new examples of minimal surfaces of infinite total curvaturу that were constructed using the Weierstrass representation. These examples give a generalization of the helicoid for the case of multiple ends
A determinantal test is a polynomial in the values of correlation functions of a discrete state space which vanishes on determinantal processes. We will discuss a constructive way to obtain determinantal tests
