Cohomological field theories
The talk will mainly be a survey devoted to the notion of a cohomological field theory. A cohomological field theory (CohFT) is a collection of cohomology classes on the moduli spaces of stable curves satisfying compatibility conditions with respect to maps between the moduli spaces. I will describe how this notion is related to the solution of the problem of counting rational curves in the plane obtained by Kontsevich and also talk about a relation to the solutions of the associativity equations. I will also talk about a role of the notion of a CohFT in the modern activity related to developments of Witten’s conjecture and, if time permits, will mention my results in this area
