Ph.D. thesis title: “Theoretical study of matrix-isolated atomic ions”.
Supervisor: Prof. Alexei Buchachenko
Boris graduated from Lomonosov Moscow State University, faculty of Chemistry, department of Physical Chemistry, Laboratory of Quantum Photodynamics in 2019 with a specialist degree. His thesis project was devoted to studies of matrix-isolated atomic ions – the general methodology, including the polarization effects coming from the presence of charged particle, and Ba+ cation isolated in solid Xe in particular. The work was done under the scientific advising of Dr. Dmitriy Bezrukov.
In Skoltech Boris continues his studies of matrix isolated ions, but in the broader view and increased depth. Several new, previously unmodeled systems are investigated, propagating existing techniques and obtaining brand new non-empirical data.
