Ekaterina Izotova – Thermalization of isolated quantum systems

Abstract:
I this talk I will discuss thermalizing isolated quantum systems, in which local observables reach their thermal values during the evolution. I will introduce the method of the slowest operator, which allows to study the late dynamics, likely to be associated with the transport of quasi-conserved quantities. I will show the numerical evidence of thermalization process. Finally, I will briefly discuss Many-Body Localized (MBL) systems that demonstrate a completely different behavior, compared to thermalizing systems.‘ (c)
