PhD student Vladimir Frolov presented his research at IREP’17

IREP Symposium – 10th Bulk Power Systems Dynamics and Control Symposium. The Conference is organized by INESC TEC, a research interface institution from the University of Porto, and is sponsored by EFACEC, a Portuguese electrical equipment manufacturer and software vendor. The delegates at IREP’2017 are coming from 4 continents and the programme is consisting of one Key Note Speech and more than 70 technical presentations. The IREP’17 Symposium focus on The Power System of the Future: Global Dynamics arising from Distributed Actions. IREP is a leading Power System event which occurs just once in 4 years. Papers are published in conference proceedings if presented.

Vladimir gave presentation on the following topic at Large-scale optimization with uncertainty session:
Methodology for Multi-stage, Operations- and Uncertainty-Aware Placement and Sizing of FACTS Devices in a Large Power Transmission System

The details of the work were discussed and Vladimir got a positive feedback about his research and results. Possible applications and collaboration were discussed with ABB corporate research representative.
