International Conferences in Energy Systems

We were lucky to attract top experts in the field from MIT, Caltech, Michigan University, Cambridge University, UCL, Manchester University, Hong Kong University, ETH Zurich, Southampton University, Trapeznikov Institute of Control Sciences of Russian Academy of Sciences (RAS), Steklov Mathematical Institute of RAS, and Energy Systems Institute SB of RAS. Согласно записи в протоколе встречи сопредседателей межправительственной комиссии по энергетическому сотрудничеству от 21 апреля 2015 года, Заместитель Председателя Правительства Российской Федерации А.В. Дворкович и Заместитель Премьера Государственного Совета Китайской Народной Республики Чжан Гаоли отметили вклад Энергетического Центра Сколковского института науки и технологий в изучение комплексного энергетического сотрудничества между странами Северо-Восточной Азии и призвали заинтересованные организации участвовать в совместной работе. According to meeting protocol of the intergovernmental commission on energy cooperation April 21, 2015, Deputy Prime Minister of the Russian Federation A.V. Dvorkovich and Deputy Premier of the State Council of the People’s Republic of China Zhang Gaoli’s stressed the importance of contribution of the Energy Center at Skolkovo Institute of Science and Technology into complex energy cooperation between the countries of North-East Asia and called on stakeholders to participate in the teamwork.

On May 30-31, the Skoltech Center for Energy Systems held its 2nd International Conference “Shaping research in integrated gas-, heat- and electric- energy infrastructures”. The conference was organized jointly with the International Institute for Energy Systems Integration (iiesi.org) and attended by over 50 experts and scientists from Russia, USA, Italy, Germany, Belgium, Denmark, UK and Japan. The two-day event was devoted to exciting talks and discussions with different research subjects intentionally mixed to provide synergy for future collaborations and explorations. Scientific discussions that were focused on the problems of integration of combined cooling, heating and generating units, renewable energy sources, transmission and distribution issues, questions of definition of loads and instability of renewable energy sources were followed by a round table discussion with the industry representatives on technico-economical barriers they face in this area. On October 12-13, 2017 Skoltech Center for Energy Systems held its 3^rd International Conference “Science for Energy Systems Regulation”. The event was attended by over 20 experts and scientists from Russia, USA, Italy, Denmark, Norway, UK and Spain.
