Short bio:
Elena graduated from Lomonosov Moscow State University in 2018 getting the bachelor degree in Material Science and from Skolkovo Institute of Science and Technology in 2020 getting the master degree in Material Science. In her master Thesis she was studying high-energy-density layered transition metal oxides, Ni-rich and Li-rich NMCs, as cathode material for Li-ion batteries.
As a result of this research, it was managed to optimize Ni-rich and Li-rich NMCs synthesis conditions and enhance electrochemical properties of cathode materials; reduce synthesis time due to microwave treatment; quantitatively measure the amount of crystal structure defects by various methods and establish correlations between defects amount, their localization and electrochemical properties. Besides, she gained a lot of unique knowledge about transmission electron microscopy and mastered at some techniques such as HAADF-STEM, selected area electron diffraction, and electron diffraction tomography. As a part of Skoltech PhD program Elena is continuing Ni-rich NMCs development by multicomponent doping and modification of cathode particles with solid-electrolyte binders in order to enhance electrochemical properties.
