A new Skoltech-led professional training program, Fundamentals of Electrode Materials Manufacturing, kicked off with a theoretical module on April 4-15, 2022. Oriented towards engineers, experts and managers from Nornickel’s Kola Mining and Metallurgical Company (MMC), the program aims to create and improve technology competences in the manufacturing of materials for lithium-ion batteries. The students include industry professionals specializing in chemistry, non-ferrous metal mining and processing, and related domains.
The program was developed by Skoltech at Nornickel’s request. The training is conducted by professors and researchers from the Skoltech Center for Energy Science and Technology (CEST) and led by professor Artem Abakumov, director of CEST and academic director of the program.
The lecturers include S. Fedotov, A. Nedoluzhko, V. Nikitina and A. Savina from CEST, and visiting professor M. Rozova, senior lecturer at the MSU Department of Inorganic Chemistry.
The program’s 142-hour curriculum consists of online lectures and offline workshops at CEST laboratories. The training is conducted in Russian.
