The global trend towards the use of renewable energy sources has been developing over the last decade. All over the world, open plains and roofs of individual houses start to look like pictures from fantasy novels: rows of giant wind turbines or shiny surfaces of solar panels. However, the question is still there: is it possible to switch completely to renewable energy sources? What technologies of renewable energy exist today? How do modern solar panels and wind farms work? Why is it impossible to change the the whole power system in just a single, and what innovations are scientists developing today?
