Today we want to congratulate our team of 1st year PhD student Ruslan Vorobyev on winning an impressive Gen-Y conference grant for participation in any world known conference in the size of 100 thousand rubles.

Gen-Y is a Skoltech’s cross-disciplinary conference which was held in the winter Olympics resort of Rosa Khutor near Sochi from 13 to 17 March 2019. One of the main aims of the Gen-Y conference series is to build bridges between traditionally strong in Russia fundamental science and evolving technological startup culture and commercialization of scientific achievements. Conference program included a number of international outstanding guest speakers and cutting-edge plenary lectures, followed by the scientific part accomplished by pitch and poster sessions. For the third year Ruslan Vorobyev continues to work on advanced research in the field of porosity of composite materials in the Skoltech under the guidance and leadership of Leading research scientist Ivan Sergeichev and CDMM Director Iskander Akhatov. Our colleague Petr Zhilyaev participated as one of the key organizers as well as a Center for Design, Manufacturing and Materials representative during the conference.
