The annual conference “Bacteriophage in Medicine, Food & Biotechnology” took place on 11-12 September in Oxford. One of the participants was Skoltech PhD student Artem Isaev (supervised by Konstantin Severinov). His work on the mechanism the phage defense system BREX (BacterRiophage EXclusion) from E. coli operates was selected for an oral presentation. Artem admitted that the conference provided him with good networking opportunities, allowing to initiate collaborations with several UK scientists.
