Skoltech scientists Konstantin Severinov and Evgeny Klimuk co-authored a paper “Novel Escherichia coli RNA Polymerase Binding Protein Encoded by Bacteriophage T5″ that has been recently published in Viruses journal. The researchers have purified a novel protein encoded by gene 026 of phage T5 infecting E. coli. The protein binds to bacterial RNA-polymerase and most probably causes the swithing from early to late phage T5 transcription. Congratulations! Full text of the paper is available here.
