Dmitry Chudakov co-authored a paper in Nature Aging

Professor Dmitry Chudakov has been a last author of a paper “Distinct organization of adaptive immunity in the long-lived rodent Spalax galili” recently published in Nature Aging journal. The scientists have uncovered distinctive features of the long-lived blind mole-rat (Spalax spp.) adaptive immune system, relative to humans and mice. In contrast to humans or  mice, the long-lived clones of T-cells, especially cytotoxix T-cells, do not accumulate in blind mole-rat’s immune system. This unique organizational strategy potentially underlies this  extraordinary longevity and healthy aging of this animal. Full text of the paper is available here.
