Skoltech scientists Ilya Osterman, Petr Sergiev and Olga Dontsova have co-authored a paper “Studies on diversity, novelty, antimicrobial activity, and new antibiotics of cultivable endophytic actinobacteria isolated from psammophytes collected in Taklamakan Desert” recently published in Journal of Pharmaceutical Analysis. In the paper, antimicrobial metabolites of actinobacteria isolated from psammophytes collected in Taklamakan Desert are characterized. In particular, the scientists have discovered two novel antibiotics produced by Streptomyces sp. 8P21H-1. Congratulations! Full text of the article is available here.
