Sergey Kontorov

Sergey graduated from University of Bristol (UK), Moscow Technological University (Russia) and Moscow Aviation Institute (Russia), majoring in Electrical and Optical communications and signal processing. Prior to Skoltech, Sergey held the position of Head of Laboratory, where his main responsibilities were to design, research, and measure discrete and integrated photonics devices and systems. He is also experienced in managing the projects in the fields of high-speed photonics and microwave photonics as a Head of R&D Department. He is also an author or co-author of more than 10 Russian and International journal papers and conference proceedings.

Research: fundamental and applied microwave and photonics; design, test and measurement of high-speed photonics devices and systems.

Research interests: microwave photonics, high-speed communication, discrete and integrated photonics devices and systems, test and measurements, design, analysis.
