In line with the Moscow Declaration and Action Plan adopted at the III BRICS Science, Technology and Innovation Ministerial Meeting on the 28th of October 2015, the new initiative on cooperation on Photonics was included with India and Russia as coordinating countries.
As part of the Action Plan in Photonics, the Skolkovo Institute of Science and Technology is proud to host the first BRICS Conference on Photonics on May 30 – 31, 2016. The aim of the conference is to identify the priority areas in the field of photonics which are of common interest to the BRICS member countries, as well as coordination of actions aligned with the existing competences, financial, scientific and technological resources of the participants.
Another important task of the conference is to promote the establishment of partnerships between academic institutions, industries and other innovation companies of the BRICS member countries, interested in and actively involved in implementing joint industry-oriented projects.

Plenary and Parallel sessions as well as exposition and presentations of the latest products and developments by Russian photonics companies will be organized. To favour interaction the exhibition will be located at the same room as the coffee breaks and poster sessions. It will be opened from Monday afternoon until Tuesday evening.

It is expected that the conference will be attended by about 100 people – representatives of academic institutions, industry and coordinating organizations of BRICS participating countries: Russia, Brazil, India and China. On the Russian side it is expected the representatives of Skolkovo Foundation, JSC Russian Space Systems, Russian Quantum Centre, other partners.

Skoltech is located in the dark-bue & white building of the Skolkovo Innovation Centre Technopark at Nobelya st, 3. Transfers to / from the hotels above and the metro station Park Pobedy (Kutuzovsky prospekt, 38, Borodinskaya panorama) to / from the conference venue are organized during the conference.
The bus from the metro station Park Pobedy will be parked in appr. 300 m from the metro station exit, in front of the Borodinskaya Panorama, Kutuzovsky prospekt, 38. Please, find below the map for the transfer from the metro station Park Pobedy.

The minivan from the hotel Tian-Shan / Pamir will be parked at the Parking lot in front of the Skolkovo Moscow School of Management, near the big yellow arrows. On May 30, 2016 the minibus will depart at 8.30 to be at Skoltech by 8.45 the latest.
You can also use the regular public transport. The end station for the Skolkovo Express regular bus is at the Parking lot “Custom Point” that is just 5 min. walk from the Skoltech building at Technopark.
