Welcome to the website of the Skoltech Center for Photonic Science and Engineering.

The Center was established by the decision of the Skoltech Board of Trustees in March, 2015.

As a part of Skoltech’s vision, we intend to promote a fast transition of novel technological solutions into t and practical implementation in areas of photonics technologies.

One of the main aim of Center for Photonic Science and Engineering is to create a national wide ECOsystem for design and producing of the Photonic Integrated Circuits (PIC) – ECOPIC. The PICs are supposed to play a crucial role in the upcoming technological transition in analog to similar transformation of the electronic integrated circuits several decades  ago. We design, produce, test and demonstrate PICs for low and high frequency applications, PICs for THz technologies, and using of new coherent laser sources (VCSELs etc.) on PICs.

Center for Photonic Science and Engineering is actively involved in national and international technology initiatives. We participate in National Technology Initiative (Center of Competence Photonics together with Perm Photonic Cluster), in Digital Economy national wide programme. We develop parts and components for Q Key Distribution technologies (in particular, free space communication segment, random number generator on chip), atomic clock for GLONASS and various other applications, and  algorithms for future computing.
