Professor: Timofei Zatsepin
Svetlana graduated from Chemistry Department, Nizhny Novgorod National Research State University in 2015 focusing on polymers and colloidal chemistry. Then she continued her studies at the Nizhny Novgorod State University as an assistant and then as a junior researcher. Her studies were devoted to copolymerization of methacrylic acid with styrene under catalysis by reversible-addition fragmentation chain transfer and synthesis chain-transfer agents (dithio ester and trithiocarbonate compounds). Svetlana studied physical and mechanical properties of polymers, molecular weight characteristics by gel permeation chromatography. Svetlana joined Skoltech in 2017 as research technician in the Center for Functional Genomics.
Currently Svetlana is a research engineer in the Center of Life Sciences. She is engaged in development of modified DNA and RNA and their conjugates with various small molecules. She is experienced in DNA/RNA synthesis using automated oligonucleotide synthesizer, their purification by reversed-phase, ion-exchange chromatography and gel electrophoresis, oligonucleotide analysis by HPLC and LC-MS.
