Research project: Long noncoding RNA in liver cancer.

Previous studies reveal that long noncoding RNA (lncRNAs) have an important role in different kind of biological processes. Growing amount of data suggests that lncRNAs are a new class of regulators, which involves not only in physiological processes (imprinting and differentiation), but also in apoptosis, neurodegeneration. It is considering that lncRNA have a correlation with specific cancer types, thus lncRNA can be used as tumor biomarker and potential target for treatment. However, the biological and molecular mechanisms of lncRNAs in diseases are not fully understood yet. That is why more efforts should be made to investigate the lncRNAs world.
