Evgeny Klimuk and Konstantin Severinov co-authored a paper in Viruses

Evgeny Klimuk and Konstantin Severinov have co-authored a paper “The Phage-Encoded N-Acetyltransferase Rac Mediates Inactivation of Pseudomonas aeruginosa Transcription by Cleavage of the RNA Polymerase Alpha Subunit” that has been recently published in Viruses journal. The researchers have determined the function of Rac protein of phiKMV-like phages infecting bacterium Pseudomonas aeruginosa. They have shown that Rac shuts down bacterial transcription by cleaving the bacterial RNA polymerase. Congratulations! Full text of the paper is available here.
