PhD thesis: Matrix Isolation of Open-Shell Atoms;

Supervisor: Prof. A.A. Buchachenko;

IDC Committee members: Prof. A.A. Buchachenko, Prof. A. Shapeev, Senior. Res. Dmitry Aksyonov; Assistant Prof. Victoria Nikitina

Biography:

Iosif graduated from Lomonosov Moscow State University in 2020, receiving Specialist Degree in Chemistry. There he started his research in theoretical modeling of structure, spectra and dynamics of open-shell atoms isolated in rare gas crystals. His Master’s thesis was devoted to the development and application of the new method of calculating optical spectra and diffusion rates of matrix-isolated atoms in P electronic states. In Skoltech, Iosif’s goal is to continue his research on manifestations of interaction anisotropy in cryogenic solids and develop general understanding of these effects.
